Now-a-days I wake up by chirping of birds, instead of noise of traffic. No, I don't live in village. I am in extreme urban setup. Due to lockdown, the noise levels are minimal in urban areas, which results in more movement of birds to densely populated areas.
There is small ground in the front of my building, covered by old trees and some fruiting trees, basically a green patch in jungle of cement. The fruiting trees around are the feeding ground for many birds ranging from small sized birds like tailor bird, sun bird to predators like shikra, falcons etc.
As air pollution is less, we can see many migratory birds migrating in different directions.
Best time to observe migration of birds is between 5 to 6- 6.30 in evening. On a full moon day, if you are lucky, in moon light you can observe migration of big birds like flamingos etc.
EBird (app launched in 2002 by Cornell Lab of Ornithology at Cornell University, Ithanca, New York) has confirmed development of undisturbed nature patches even near big cities which is a rousting ground as well as feeding ground for many migratory and residential birds. Enjoy some clicks !
